Bali is a big island and July is a high-season for travel time. Traffic might be unexpected and some roads will lead you to dead end. We recommend these steps for a smooth travel around the island.

Weather

July is high season in Bali. We recommend booking your hotels and flights at least 6-8 months in advance for the best deals / prices. Some of our favorite websites are Kayak for flights and Agoda or Booking.com for Hotels. There are also plenty of Airbnbs, however please beware that there are a lot of small alleys and dead end roads in which these Airbnb are nested so it might not fit a car when reaching these accomodations.

The weather in July will be pleasant, offering a perfect blend of sunshine, warmth, and minimal rainfall, making it an ideal time for travellers to explore the island's beauty. The Bali temperature in July ranges from approximately 23°C (73°F) to 27°C (73°F), providing a comfortable climate for outdoor activities. Dress for summer weather and expect 3-4 days of possible tropical rain days.

Some of our favorite airlines are Singapore Airlines (the fastest with direct to Singapore, and an hour flight to Bali with fairly affordable premium economy for comfort), Qatar Airways (great stopover airport in Doha, fantastic business class if you want to splurge), ANA or Japan Airlines (great stopover in Japan), Cathay Pacific (stopover in Hong Kong for great food and fairly affordable premium economy), and EVA Air (overnight stop in Taiwan if you’re looking to break up your flight).

Car Service / Scooter Service

In Bali there are few transportation options, we recommend downloading the rideshare apps Gojek and/or Grab before you arrive in Indonesia to be able to call cars and scooters from anywhere. These are equivalent to Uber / Lyft. They also can deliver food, etc.

Local taxis could be hit or miss and it might be hard if it’s your first time to spot the official service. Do not engage with unofficial drivers at the airport.

Once you enter the main island, feel free to rent a scooter on the island for yourself if that’s more your speed. Ride with caution!

Private car service with driver is also a common offering and ranges from $35 - $100 per day (typically 8 hours) and might be convenient if you’re traveling in groups.
